In Their Own Words: Voices From The Circle

In Their Own Words: Voices From The Circle
@aljalees.sa

We invited our members to share their reflections on their experience with Al Jalees Culture Club, and the response was deeply moving. Alongside the generous words of appreciation, we also welcome constructive criticism, because thoughtful feedback helps us grow and shape a better experience. At the heart of Al Jalees is a simple intention: to create a safe, motivating community for culture enthusiasts.

What follows are personal reflections from both long-time and new members, shared in their own words, describing what Al Jalees means to them and how it has added value to their lives.

Mohammad Kaki — Member since 2022

Mohammad Kaki: Member since 2022

“What stayed with me wasn’t just the discussion, but the intention behind everything. The care, the warmth, the small details — the way people listened, shared, and showed up for one another. One session didn’t end in the room; it travelled into my conversations with my son, my friendships, and how I see relationships. Al Jalees didn’t just talk about relationships. It became relationships.”

“Al Jalees cannot be described in words. It was my beginning — my gateway into loving books and reading, surrounded by people who share a passion for knowledge and curiosity.”

Najl Arif — Member since 2024

Najl Arif: Member since 2024

“After returning to the city, I was searching for belonging — not just any community, but one rooted in depth and thoughtful exchange. At Al Jalees, discussions move far beyond books into history, emotion, and human complexity. Conversations stay with you long after they end. For anyone who craves reflection and meaning, this space is rare and necessary.”

Mariam Al Amri — Member since 2022

“Al Jalees was not a coincidence for me. It was a turning point. A place that equips you for the journey ahead with knowledge, perspective, and respect for differing opinions. It taught me inclusivity, dialogue, and the beauty of exchanging experiences. Knowing this community is a true blessing.”

Sara — Member since 2021

“Al Jalees gave me something I didn’t realize I was missing: permission to slow down and think deeply. The discussions helped me articulate thoughts I had carried quietly for years. Listening to others gave language to my own reflections, and over time, I became more confident — not only in speaking, but in thinking. Here, curiosity feels safe.”

Mohammad — Member since 2020

“I joined Al Jalees during the COVID period out of curiosity and a quiet need for connection. What I found was a rare balance — structured yet warm, intellectual yet deeply human. Conversations flowed naturally between people who had never met before. Al Jalees turned reading from a solitary habit into a shared experience, at a time when connection mattered most.”

“Being part of Al Jalees made reading more enjoyable and deeply rewarding for me. The diverse book selections push me beyond my usual choices, and the thoughtfully facilitated discussions help me reflect on layers I might have missed. The community adds immense value — the conversations are rich, insightful, and intellectually engaging. It keeps me committed, curious, and always looking forward to what’s next.”

Closing Reflection

Reading these testimonies reminds us why Al Jalees exists. Not just for books, events, or discussions — but for people. For the moments of connection, the unexpected friendships, and the conversations that follow you home and continue long after the chairs are put away.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who shared their words and experiences. Your voices shape this community more than any program or plan ever could.

Al Jalees for the past 11 years is, and will always be, built with you — and for you.
